Horizon Recruitment Inc. is searching for an experienced Supply Chain Lead to join our large BC based client. This position will be required to lead a project team responsible for maintaining a complex portfolio of materials and equipment for a high paced manufacturing operation. Liaising with internal stakeholders in the design and engineering team to ensure scope of work, planning and inventory demands are understood the team also manages vendor sourcing and procurement ensuring items are in stock when required, minimizing risk and cost to the organization.
Initially a 12 month contract opportunity this role has a high probability of long term work in the future.
Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement, Planning and buyer / expediting teams for equipment and materials requirements.
- Liaise with Engineering, Project managers, Construction management and Legal teams to develop scope and vendor contracts
- Develop innovative supply chain strategies to manage complex manufacturing projects
- Lead major procurement processes and assist with complex negotiations and escalations
- Manage vendor inquiries and clarifications
- Bid evaluation and vendor negotiations
Requirements:
- University level degree ideally in engineering or construction management disciplines.
- 8+ years of experience working in a project environment
- 5+ years of experience working in Mining, Construction, Oil & Gas etc.
- 5+ years of experience in contract administration / contract management
- Exceptional communication skills. Both written and verbal.
- Customer service focused approach to contract management
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
Remuneration:
- $50-60/hr
