Horizon Recruitment Inc. has been engaged to conduct a search for an Assistant Controller focused on our clients US subsidiaries. This person will report directly to the Controller and oversee a team of 2 to 4 direct reports. This person will be responsible for the full cycle accounting and reporting for the US operations and will work closely with the Canadian, European, and Asian accounting teams.
Responsibilities:
- Producing accurate and timely financial information for US subsidiaries.
- Review monthly US entities financial reporting packages including financial statements, variance analysis, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing consolidated US package and presentation for parent entity.
- Assist in setting up of processes to integrate subsidiary business into existing financial reporting processes to ensure efficient and streamlined reporting in the new post-merger environment.
- Responsible for tracking of Partnership equity unit classes (income allocations, distributions, contributions, etc.)
- Coordinate reporting from US subsidiaries and consolidation of US results with key focus on consolidation entries.
- Review of month end closing journal entries and accruals.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience ideally with a combination of public practice and industry experience (CPA, CA designation preferred).
- Experience with US and/or international entities considered an asset.
- Experience in real-estate preferred but not required.

Rewards:
- $115,000 - $130,000 + Bonus
