Horizon Recruitment Inc. has been engaged to conduct the search for our client's Director of Operations. The client is a leader in manufacturing and distribution for over 40 years, they are seeking a seasoned professional to lead their operations team. This role is essential for driving operational excellence and ensuring seamless coordination across various functional areas.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production planning, purchasing, inventory management, safety, facility maintenance, logistics, and equipment service.
  • Establish policies, control budgets, and optimize expenses to increase operational efficiency.
  • Set and achieve high standards and goals for operational performance.
  • Implement and maintain quality and risk management programs.
  • Lead change management processes to improve cost structures, efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Perform operations analysis and summarize metrics for senior leadership.
  • Establish and manage relationships with suppliers and external providers.
  • Conduct capacity analyses and plan for infrastructure and equipment needs.
  • Prioritize and implement key capital initiatives to improve productivity and support growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on operational plans and goals.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree in a business-related field or Operations Management.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Food Safety and WSBC regulations.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in Operations, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics, inventory control, and production planning.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to execute strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and Power BI.
  • Ability to travel quarterly and semi-annually to all locations.

Remuneration:

  • $120,000 - $140,000 + bonus
