Horizon Recruitment is seeking an International Tax Manager for a technology company with operations around the world. This newly created position will oversee all tax compliance and planning across the multiple jurisdictions. As the company continues growing, this person will get involved in acquisitions and decision support.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the timely and accurate submission of all tax returns (including income, sales tax, GST, VAT, and withholding tax) for North America, while supervising the same process for international entities.
  • Ensures adherence to applicable tax laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Directs the calculation of tax provisions (including both income and deferred tax) for financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Keeps track of global tax law and regulatory changes, evaluating their potential impact on the organization.
  • Offers proactive tax planning guidance and executes strategies to mitigate tax-related risks.
  • Leads the creation and documentation of transfer pricing policies to ensure alignment with international tax standards.
  • Supervises the review of transfer pricing data and guarantees correct allocation of income and expenses among various entities.
  • Ensures that proper agreements are in place to support intercompany transactions.
  • Provides tax counsel as needed, ensuring tax efficiency in corporate transactions and business ventures.
  • Manages tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities in North America and oversees these processes for international entities.

Requirements:

  • An accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) with 5-8 years of tax experience
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian tax, familiarity with US and international tax is an asset
  • Ability to analyze complex business situations and summarize key issues
  • Ability to think ahead to provide future-proof solutions
  • Must be a team player and effective communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Not afraid to bring forth innovative ideas and be a champion of best practices
  • Well organized, structured, and efficient

Rewards:

  • $120-130K
