Horizon Recruitment has an immediate requirement for a Project Procurement and Contracts Specialist with strong sourcing skills and vendor management experience. This role will focus heavily on a major project portfolio, supporting the project team with vendor sourcing, contract formation and contract management.

 

This is an interim contract consulting engagement starting on a 1 year term with great potential for extensions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project team to define, analyze, and prioritize requirements in alignment with their long-term business strategy.
  • Plan and execute all stages of the sourcing process to meet timelines and strategic objectives.
  • Lead sourcing, evaluation, supplier negotiation, and contract formation.
  • Monitor and manage compliance with sourcing strategy and business processes.
  • Oversee the entire contract management life cycle, ensuring proactive administration to support end users.
  • Manage or assist in managing contracts and supplier performance, resolving any performance issues promptly.
  • Report performance data for assigned categories and key business processes.
  • Work collaboratively across functions to ensure full understanding and support of category management, sourcing, and contract management processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts at all levels.

 

Requirements:

  • 10 years experience in a project environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Strong experience managing contracting strategy, vendor sourcing and contract management.
  • Strong skills in strategic planning, project management, process improvement, innovation, and team building.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions, foreseeing market trends to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Proven negotiator with a successful track record in vendor relations and product/service assessment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all company levels and communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, able to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and Project).

Rewards:

  • Target range $80 – 90/hr.

Our client works on a hybrid work model: 4 days in-office, with the option to work remotely on Monday or Friday.
