Horizon Recruitment Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator for a large client in the manufacturing and distribution space. This person will be responsible for all payroll duties for Corporate office staff and be the steward of the benefits program, advocating for its use and ensuring things are run efficiently. This will be an excellent opportunity for someone to stretch themselves and take on special projects as the company looks to continuously improve the way things are done.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all corporate staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations in BC and ON.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status or compensation.
  • Ensure payroll practices comply with legal requirements and company policies; prepare for and support internal and external audits.
  • Manage and optimize payroll systems and software; implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in payroll processing.
  • Generate and analyze detailed payroll reports, including summaries of compensation, deductions, and taxes; provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and system issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate benefits administration.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and overall employee satisfaction.
  • Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations, ensuring timely adaptation of practices and policies.

Requirements:

  • Past experience with benefits administration
  • Problem solver with the ability to think outside the box, and explore creative solutions
  • Ability to manage projects through to completion with a strong sense of ownership
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to correspond with various departments and levels of seniority
  • Experience using Ceridian would be an asset
  • Designation or certification in Payroll (PCP, CPP, CPM) preferred

Rewards:

  • $90-110k
