Horizon Recruitment Inc. has been engaged to conduct the search for our client’s Shipper/Receiver for a rapidly growing manufacturing organization based in Surrey. Our client has a strong history dating back over 50 years with an innovative product line and a growing market. They are experiencing significant growth and are looking for a Shipper/Receiver for a 6-month contract position to start.
Responsibilities:
- Determine the appropriate method of shipment, prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices, and other shipping documents manually or using a computer.
- Assemble containers and crates, and accurately record contents manually or digitally.
- Pack goods securely for shipment, ensuring that identifying information and shipping instructions are correctly affixed.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other vehicles.
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages, and report any damaged goods.
- Unpack, code, and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
- Maintain internal record-keeping systems, whether manual or computerized.
- Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
- Regular manual handling of materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly and perform repetitive bending and lifting motions over a period of time.
Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- Experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is an asset.
- Forklift certification or experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.
Rewards:
- $20 - $25 per hour based on experience.
