Horizon Recruitment Inc. is currently assisting one of our valued clients in the shipping and logistics industry to find a highly skilled Commercial Strategy Analyst . Reporting to the Director, this key role is focused on supporting the long-term commercial strategy and driving critical decision-making regarding fleet composition, vessel deployment, and customer strategy. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of cost and profit drivers within the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and present data-driven insights to leadership to guide future fleet composition and long-term strategic planning.
- Develop, monitor, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess performance and inform strategic adjustments.
- Provide actionable analysis and guidance to optimize vessel allocation, reduce delivery costs, and maximize profitability.
- Stay informed on market trends and cost factors.
- Produce and distribute critical KPI reports (e.g., monthly rate forecasts, quarterly commercial updates) to aid in market analysis and decision-making across various management teams.
- Manage and track the 3-year forward budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams, and handle commercial claims related to freight negotiation and third-party customer agreements.
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting requests for special projects.
Requirements:
- A university degree with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a data analytics-focused role.
- Strong analytical skills with proven expertise in gathering, organizing, analyzing, and presenting complex data to stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive, detail-oriented planner who can multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong with Microsoft Power BI or similar data visualization and business intelligence tools, with hands-on experience developing KPI dashboards and reports.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively distribute critical information to various teams.
Rewards:
- $100,000-$110,000
