Just HR has been engaged to conduct the search for a People & Culture Manager for a technology company on beautiful Vancouver Island. As a pivotal member of our clients Human Resources team, this manager will drive initiatives that foster employee development, enhance the overall employee experience, and improve organizational efficiency. With a solid background in HR generalist functions—including talent development and HR operations—the ideal candidate will empower this workforce and shape their company culture. You’ll collaborate with HR leadership, department managers, and employees to design, implement, and evaluate HR programs that align with this company’s goals and values. Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage learning and career development programs to advance employee skills and career growth.
  • Support leadership development initiatives, providing coaching and mentorship to both emerging and established leaders.
  • Facilitate training and professional development workshops across various domains.
  • Partner with managers to implement performance management processes, including goal setting, performance assessments, and succession planning.
  • Evolve performance management practices based on modern trends and provide recommendations for performance development.
  • Analyze HR data to generate insightful reports and actionable recommendations for data-driven decision-making.
  • Utilize HR systems to streamline processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Develop frameworks, presentations, and communications that represent the business internally and externally.
  • Adapt policies and procedures to support organizational growth and recommend process improvements.
  • Create and execute initiatives to improve employee experience, including onboarding, training, and engagement programs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to boost workplace culture.
  • Foster a positive work environment to enhance employee retention through proactive HR programs and communication.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of HR programs and initiatives, including performance management, rewards, wellness, talent development, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Stay current with HR laws and regulations to ensure company policies and procedures are compliant.
  • Manage employee relations issues in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Contribute to recruitment strategies to attract top talent, including sourcing, job postings, and employer branding.
  • Support the interview process by designing questions, coordinating panels, and collaborating with department heads on hiring decisions.
  • Promote the company’s employer brand through various channels, highlighting our culture, values, and unique selling points.
  • Enhance employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention through internal initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field; relevant certification (e.g., CPHR, SHRM) is a plus.
  • At least 8 years of progressive HR experience with a focus on employee experience, organizational efficiency, and talent development, preferably in manufacturing or technology sectors.
  • Proficiency in HR technology and systems.
  • Strong ability to analyze, organize, and present HR data.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven collaborative approach in team environments.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.

Rewards:

$100,000 - $130,000 with performance-based bonuses, and a generous total rewards and benefit program.
